Ptychodontidae

Ptychodus is a genus of extinct durophagous (shell-crushing) lamniform sharks from the Cretaceous period, spanning from the Cenomanian to the Campanian. Fossils of Ptychodus teeth are found in many Late Cretaceous marine sediments worldwide.
